Count Zer0? “He’s just zees guy, you know?”
Frank aka Count Zero is a music enthusiast and disc jockey living in New York, NY. Originally hailing from the wilds of Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh to be specific, he grew up on the hearty sounds of the steel city. Book him at deejaycountzero@gmail.com
This blog focuses on the music and artists behind the music. It regularly includes reviews of current and classic electronic dance releases spanning multiple sub-genres including but not limited to Detroit techno, Detroit/beatdown/deep house, techno, minimal, acid, disco, and anything with a solid groove and psychedelic, melodic, or drummy rhythms, and sometimes ambient/downtempo bizness too. Other topics include sample sources, rare tracks (”secret weapons”), DJ mixes by Count Zer0 and guests, and info about musical robots/robotic music. What you won’t find here are free high bitrate mp3s of complete individual songs, nor pandering sycophantic comments on every new release regardless of whether it’s actually any good.

I used to have a old mix tape (yes tape, not CD-R) where you start the mix off with Chuck Mangione’s “Feel so Good” and it really ambient and eclectic after that. I used to love that tape but it was stolen (along with my other favorites) from my car. Any idea what mix that was?

wow! I am honored that you remember the tape. Thanks, this pretty much made my day! I wonder how you got a copy, as I don’t know that I know you. The tape you are talking about is “Absolute Zer0″, which is available at the very bottom of the mixes page of the main site. http://www.deejaycountzero.com
Let me know if it’s the one you are looking for. I am 99% sure that it’s the only tape I ever started with “Feels So Good”.
