june (yes, june) chart

I am so ridiculously far behind on music related work.  I blame DEMF - it seems that just those four days away have a far reaching ripple effect.  Anyway, here’s the ten records and one album that rocked my world in June, not accounting for the crazy stack of new and used vinyl I got in Detroit, and on a jaunt to Pittsburgh that month too.

Basic Soul Unit - Tuff Luv Ep - Creme Organization
Jamie Read - Never The Future Ep - Elektrosouls Recordings
Jitterbug - Beaten Trax Ep - Uzuri Recordings
Justus Kohncke - Now Phreeq - Stilove4music
Kyle Hall/Rick Wilhite - Pres. Vibes New & Rare Music Part C - Rush Hour
Phlash & Friends - Jungle Orchidz - Archive
Steve Summers - Lucid Fingers Ep - Echo Volt
Terrence Dixon/Upperground Orchestra - Room 310 (Remixes) - Meakusma
Various - Masque Edits - Masque Edits
Dj Yoav B - Love Dubs Ep - Delsin

Robert Hood – Omega - M Plant Us

  1. Frank Zero! Thanks for keeping all of your old mixes up….do you realize that once a year I get this insane, insatiable craving for 2-step and the only thing I want to hear is a mix you did as ‘the business’ 9 years ago!

BTW…I wonder if you even remember who I am? :-P

  2. OMG of course I remember who you are you silly goose. In fact, just last week I was trying to remember your last name so I could try to find you on the Facewebs. Uncanny timing girl.

How are you? Are you still in Cali?

I am humbled and honored that you hold that mix in such high regard. I love it too, one of my favorites ever.

Tom Cox was the other half of “The Business”, for the record.

Long live the Steel City Soul Cartel!

Yep, I’m still kickin it in Cali. I am doing some consulting work at the University of California at Davis, but that ends on Aug.31. I’m then moving to England for graduate school…where I plan on enjoying some proper dubstep parties!

It is crazy to think that we met a decade ago, when I was just a wee kitten of 16 years!

Are you still in NYC or did the magnetic draw of the Burgh pull you back in?

  4. I’m in NYC still. I love Pittsburgh but my fiancee’s career is here.

That’s awesome that you’re going to England. Bigups!
