I know Geiger has actually played the fest 5 times. Some of the people that play this event frequently are pillars of the music community in Detroit. Therefore, they play it regularly. The Detroit Jazz Festival, which has been in existence for many years, books quite a few of the same local acts every year since they are staples in the Detroit jazz scene.
